Shayna struggled to find grip both days at Williams Grove Speedway. While the track conditions changed each day the one constant for the number 52 team was the lack of grip from the middle of the corner to the exit. On one end the track had less banking so the groove was a little better but on the end with banking it was more difficult, especially in traffic to get hooked up to make progress.
Shayna leaned on her fiancé Briar Bauman (Grand National Champion in the Super Twins Class) to help with line choices and made some progress but over-all did not have consistent pace to run at the front where she typically does. Shayna finished 11th in the main event on Friday and 15th on Saturday….not the result that she was planning on for sure.
The bright spot on the weekend for Shayna was seeing Briar win the Super Twins main event in a run away both nights. Shayna rode with Briar on the victory lap in front of her home town crowd after Friday nights win and looks forward to having the roles reversed very soon.
Shayna and the Red Bull KTM team will participate in additional testing before the next event and look forward to racing at a new track in Texas on the weekend of September 25 and 26.
