Shayna update from the Indy Mile “Double Header”

Editor General News

Shayna participated in a test day at Indy with the Red Bull KTM team on Thursday before the “Double Header” weekend with races on Friday night and Saturday night-
American Flat Track has done a great job with controlling the paddock and ensuring that teams wear masks at all times. We support these efforts 100%.

The set up in the paddock was among the very best as always. The team used a full set-up with staff in uniform from the test day on Thursday throughout the weekend….even though the paddock was closed to fans and nobody would be inside to see.

Kristen Beat from NBC stopped by to catch up with Shayna before the weekend of racing began.

Tire warmers were used all weekend to help Shayna with the new tire (They don’t heat up as quickly as previous tires)

Lots of testing on Thursday. The team had a lot of proven parts to test for the Indy conditions.

AFT CEO Michael Lock escorted special guest FIA (Federation International Automobile aka International Automobile Federation) President Jean Todt to meet Shayna and the Red Bull KTM team.

Racing on Mile tracks is incredibly fast and close racing! The NBC broadcast will be awesome! (Shayna had an onboard camera that NBC can pull from for the broadcast)

The team paddock shined under the lights at the Indy Mile.

P-3 on Saturday night after a hard fought battle…

Great to see Shayna spraying champagne on Saturday night….great points weekend as well.

Shayna moves to third in the Championship standings (only 10 points behind the leader) after 4 rounds of racing. The podium was exciting because there were fans in the stands (AFT had a limited / controlled  amount of fans in attendance to allow for social distancing but they were LOUD!)…approx. 4,000 fans cheering was music to the riders ears….we are thankful to be racing and appreciate the extra steps that the American Flat Track series takes to keep everyone safe and within the CDC Guidelines.
