Shayna Texter attends pre season test session at Traveler’s Rest Speedway

On Wednesday May 20th Shayna Texter and fiancé Briar Bauman loaded their van and made the 10 hour journey from their home in Pennsylvania to Travelers Rest South Carolina for the first test on their race bikes since the covid-19 virus disrupted the 2020 season. Shayna’s KTM Factory mechanic Justin Pitman made the trip from his home in Ohio for this test in the Red Bull KTM Factory hauler filled with motorcycles and cool parts to test in preparation for the 2020 season beginning in mid July.

We made a quick trip out to the track to check out the location only to find pretty muddy conditions. The promoter had packed in the track to help when the rain hit but to looked pretty bad in the morning.

Shayna kept a positive attitude and made sure to get in her training while the track was getting prepped for the late afternoon test. Shayna and Briar found a local park near the hotel and got in a nice run. We were able to have lunch as a team before heading back to Travelers Rest to set-up for the evenings test.

The track crew did a great job getting the track ready for the test. They used vans to roll in the track after the sun did its job of drying all afternoon.

Shayna took to the track at about 6:15PM and stayed until just after 10:00PM and logged just under 100 laps. The team tested several combinations of parts and suspension settings and left with a pretty good base to begin with on Saturday for the race.
